We are looking for the regions next top 10 innovators. If you are selected, you will join an intensive growth programme that offers tools, coaching and entrepreneurial support. The final stage of the programe involves Pioneers pitching to business leaders who determine the two with the most potential. These are then awarded business support packages worth in the region of £25k.

ForSkills acquired by NCFE

ForSkills, founded by Carl GIbson and Myles Ponsonby in 2005 (and an i-Centre tenant since 2007), have been acquired by NCFE, a national awarding organisation. ForSkills will continue to operate from its offices in Mansfield and County Durham, with its 14 staff - many of whom are specialists in online diagnostic testing and learning contect for Functional Skills and GCSE qualifications. ForSkills will now be overseen by a management board made up of Myles Ponsonby, Executive Director of ForSkills and NCFE directors.

Myles Ponsonby commented, ' This exciting new chapter for ForSkills, which follows on from our acquistion of Guroo Limited in 2014, will allow us to continue our growth and become the leading povider of assessments and learning resources in English and Maths for post 16 learners.'

Pioneer 10 launch

On Tuesday 24th May, we held the Pioneer 10 launch here at Mansfield i -Centre.

Our aim, through Pioneer 10 is to promote Business growth. This is done through free business support.

Council members from the following Councils attended; Nottinghamshire County Council, Mansfield District Council, Bassetlaw District Council and Newark & Sherwood District Council along
with representatives from East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, University of
Nottingham and business sponsors Fidler Pepper Solicitors, JRB Accountancy,
Love Your Skin and Xposure Creative.

Members of the Oxford Innovation Senior Management Team were also in attendance.

 You can grow your business with our intensive programme of free tools and support. Attend workshops led by some of our business experts and be in with a chance of being selected as one of 10 Pioneers to receive one-to-one coaching. Two Pioneers will then be selected from the 10 to receive extensive, long term business support worth in the region of £25k.

Operated by Oxford Innovation, and based across the Nottinghamshire Innovation Centres; Mansfield i-Centre, Newark Beacon and Worksop Turbine, the Pioneer 10 programme is building a business community that propels the next generation of pioneers into the future.
